TEACHING GLOBAL GOAL 2: ZERO HUNGER
At eleven years old, after a visit to a local food pantry, Kiran Sridhar was astounded at the amount of people were depending on the food on the shelves to survive. He saw firsthand the impact hunger had on his community, and he wanted to do something about it. After starting a non-profit organization called WasteNoFood, Kiran created a complementary mobile app, which allows anyone with extra food or leftovers to post it on the app, as you would with a status or photo on a social media site. The post is then relayed to charities within a 20-mile radius where they can claim the meal. Kiran hopes to donate millions of meals through WasteNoFood.
